Opportunites to Pray Together

Ecumenical Prayer Breakfast 1st Saturday of the month at the Vicarage, from 9am, prayer, coffee and croissant. Next is 1st August – Thursday evening at St Thomas at 6:00 pm for an hour every other week.  16th July 2026.

 Food and Hygiene Bank

The Foodbank Larder box is located in the porch of St Thomas Church.

Please help!  We are currently very low on funds and struggling to keep up with demand.
Donations of LL milk, tinned meat, fish, veg & beans, pasta, pasta sauces, sachets rice, toiletries and cleaning products always needed. We also supply 6 families, 4 single households with monthly deliveries of fresh food at a cost £400-£500 a month.

Children’s work update

I have been attending some Diocesan training and am praying that we will launch an after-school group, please pray for help and inspiration and resources as we look at all the options open to us

 
 

Tent Service 19th July – Albury Heath:

The annual all benefice service in the tent on Albury Heath. Rev’d Sarah will lead this service in the marquee on Albury Heath. It is a fun service as the whole benefice comes together to worship. There are some refreshments after. Please come and join with us as we worship together

 
 

Joint PCC Away Day 11th July 9am

The first Joint Benefice PCC Away Day will take place at St Nicholas’ Church, Bury Street, Guildford GU2 4AW on Saturday 11 July. We begin at 9am with welcome (and Coffee) then at 9.15am we will have a short Morning Prayer followed by Revd Dr Sam Wells speaking on ‘Being With’ - which underpins our vison as a Benefice. From 11am Victoria Ashdown, a Diocesan facilitator, will lead us in putting this vision into action notably as we create our Benefice and Parishes’ Development Plans. A sandwich lunch will be served and we will finish by 2pm.

There is no Parking at St Nicholas’ Church so use the town centre car parks such as Millbrook or Castle Street and ideally lift share! 

 
 

ALPHA COURSE STARTING SEPTEMBER

We are starting an ALPHA course in September at St Thomas Church, there will be food a short video and an opportunity to think and chat about the topic for that night in an open and friendly atmosphere, it is free and everyone is welcome.

 
 

Music at St Martha's - 12th July 1-2pm

We welcome the Holywell Ensemble – free admission with donations in support of The Royal Marsden and St Martha’s

 
 
 
 

Broad Horizons Book Group

Our informal book continues on 21st Juy when we will be discussing "Conjectures of a Guilty Bystander".  Se by Thomas Merton.  See below for further details:

 
 
 
 

Book Stall at Albury Produce Show

Albury  are running their usual book stall at Albury’s Produce Show on Saturday 18 July and are looking for books! Do you have any books you no longer need? They would love them!! Collection points are in the Churches of Albury, Shere, Peaslake and Chilworth or on the morning of the Show at the stall itself.

They are also looking for some volunteers to help sort the books in the morning and to sell the books in the afternoon. Please contact Albury’s Churchwardens if you can spare an hour or so!!

Used Stamps for Oxfam

 Please place used stamps in the box at the back of St Thomas' which will stay there all year and be emptied as and when it gets full.
