Dark Sky Series

Sundays (see list below) at 7.45-8.45pm

We are excited to introduce a new series of atmospheric contemporary music recitals for dark winter evenings in the new year, and look forward to welcoming intrepid concert goers, wrapped up warmly, at our Sunday evenings on the hilltop.

Torches, binoculars (if it's a clear night), and warm clothes recommended (though be assured the heating will have been on over the weekend for services and visitors).  Dogs welcome.  Hot chocolate available, to warm you as the music plays. 

Free admission, with donations invited towards refreshments and the upkeep of the church. 

12th Jan The Holywell Ensemble (clarinet/sax, violin, cello and piano) presents a wistful and nostalgic programme of contemporary chamber music.

26th Jan A magical evening of music for theremin and ondes martenot, with Charlie Draper  (and Margaret Ozanne piano).

9th Feb & 15 March POSTPONED - To be announced

The Lodore Trio  (flute, viola and piano) play recently composed works for this evocative instrumental grouping.

23rd Feb  An evening of live electronic ambient/drone improvisation by Ed Roberts. 

1st March Acclaimed Oxford-based string quartet OXUS round off our series in a programme of contemporary quartets.
