Book Club: The Light between Oceans

This year's summer book club series is continuing at St Martha's.  The next meeting is on Tuesday 27 June when we will discuss The Light Between Oceans.  It is a beautiful story with moral conundra following each other as swifly as sparks of light from the great lighthouse off the Australian coast, where the story is set.

Hoping anyone interested will join us and we look forward to seeing you there.  Warm clothes always a good idea!

Note there has been a change to the July date - the club will now meet on Monday 31 July (instead of Wednesday 26 July).
The 2017 programme opened with great promise as a small (but earnest and inquiring!) group of us enjoyed a couple of hours outside on a refreshing April evening (with mugs of hot tea) discussing the inspirational writings of Desmond Tutu, and the relevance of his thoughts on freedom, justice and tolerance in today's world.  We were all excited to be making the most of light evenings once again, and look forward to the longer, warmer ones ahead.

On 24 May we discussed "Cutting for Stone" by Abraham Verghese.

See more information about the books we are reading this summer here.
