Compline at St Martha's

On Sunday 3rd July 2016, St Martha’s had the rare treat of a service of Compline sung by the Schola Cantorum of The Royal Grammar School, Guildford.  There is a close relationship between St Martha’s and RGS, which has long supported the musical and liturgical events in the church.

The ancient office of Compline (“completion”) is a service of quietness and reflection before rest at the end of the day.  It was beautifully expressed by the boys in sung responses and the Nunc Dimittis set by the Spanish renaissance composer, Victoria.

Our heartfelt thanks go to the Schola Cantorum for a beautiful service and we very much hope to welcome you back soon
