Chilworth Care Committee

Chilworth Care Committee is a voluntary group set up nearly 40 years ago to offer lifts to the people of Chilworth who need transport to local hospitals and doctors’ surgeries and also to provide and distribute local community information.

The Chilworth Care Committee is a voluntary organisation funded by donations and occasional fundraising activities.

Volunteers can either help with telephone answering and arranging lifts or by driving people to their medical appointments.  At present we offer lifts to:

  • Wonersh and Shere doctors’ surgeries
  • Royal Surrey County Hospital and Cranleigh and Milford Hospitals.
  • Lifts can be provided to local Dentists, Chiropodists, Opticians and other clinics.
  • We also offer lifts to the monthly Monday Afternoon Tea at St Marthas Court and the weekly Thursday Coffee Morning at St Thomas’ Church.  All villagers are welcome to attend both these Chilworth Care Committee events.

We may also be able to offer lifts to local church and social events such as The Chilworth History Society and Mothers’ Union meetings.

Contact us on 01483 538886 for more details and to request a lift.

Volunteers answer the telephone on weekday mornings between 9.00and 10.30am.  At other times please leave a message.
