Keeping the Pimms, sorry, Show on the Road

Huge thanks to Mia and Graham Wrigley, our hosts at Chilworth Manor for their massive generosity in aid of our parish in opening their gardens for Picnics & Pimms on 24 June.

500 people danced to live music and enjoyed picnics in the beautiful gardens of Chilworth Manor.

A sudden, prolonged shower failed to prevent people from having fun.

Instead of packing up picnic tables and heading for the car par, everyone donned plastic ponchos donated by Mia and Graham (what foresight!) and went on dancing.

The Vicar, Stephanie (pictured left in a party-saving poncho) thanked everyone who had supported this very special fundraising event by buying tickets and drinks and by coming along and enjoying the evening.

A record breaking £14,170 was raised.  These funds will contribute towards church building projects and the installation of a sound system and hearing loop at St Martha's.

Thank you, everyone!

Maybe, maybe the lovely rose wine produced by the Manor's vineyard will be on sale for the first time next year ...
